Illustrator and creative Elizabeth Lamb Szekely, (Lizzie),  grew up in Melbourne, Australia, where her early love of drawing was shaped by fashion, fairytales, music, pop culture, and travel. After completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising at RMIT, Lizzie began her career as a fashion illustrator, developing a strong foundation in classic design principles and visual storytelling for branding and marketing. Her signature style blends watercolour, pencil, pen, paper collage, and digital illustration—always hand-drawn and guided by a distinctly human touch—creating work that balances elegance, warmth, and a sense of joy.

Deeply inspired by vintage fashion and the timeless sketches of classic designers such as Chanel, Dior, and Balenciaga, Elizabeth’s work reflects a refined yet playful sensibility. Over the past two decades, her practice has expanded beyond fashion illustration to include publishing, advertising, book illustration, pattern design, animation, and licensed artwork. Her illustrations have appeared across fashion and textiles, stationery, corporate branding, and editorial projects, while her bespoke commissions include wedding and family portraits, children, pets, and custom wall art.

 

Elizabeth has collaborated with clients both in Australia and internationally, including Penguin Publishing, University of Queensland Press, Lannoo Publishing, Golden Goose, Rock Your Baby Clothing, Artwrap, Alannah Hill, McWilliam’s Wines, Athesia Kalenderverlag, French Bikini Lingerie, Delilah Hair Studio, and more.

Having spent time living in Seattle before travelling further afield, Elizabeth now frequently draws inspiration from her adopted second city, Budapest, where old-world history, architecture, and legend continue to influence her work. She currently lives and works in Melbourne.
